NASCARDale Jarrett gets a little help from a friend and then lands on the pole for the Bud Shootout at Daytona.
NASCARErin Crocker became the second woman in history to win a pole at Daytona International Speedway on Friday when she claimed the first starting spot for the ARCA 200.
Crocker joins Patty Moise, who won the pole in 1989 and 1990 for the ARCA events at the famed 2 1/2-mile superspeedway.
It’s the fourth ARCA pole for Crocker, who turned a lap at 182.219 mph in an Evernham Motorsports Dodge.
“For the money we spent to bring that thing here we should sit on the pole,” joked Evernham.
NASCARA group of investors led by Boston Red Sox owner John Henry has completed a deal to buy a 50 percent stake in the Roush Racing NASCAR team, a person familiar with the negotiations said Friday.
Although team owner Jack Roush is selling half of the team to the Fenway Sports Group, Roush will continue to run the team’s competitive operations, according to the person, who requested anonymity because the deal hasn’t been announced.
Both parties have scheduled a Feb.
